STARR-Shimko Troop Animal Rescue & Resort-Okay, the "t" is a little weak, but the rest of the sentiment in there. We now have 1 dog, 5 rabbits, 2 ducks and a lizard family living with us, as well as a variety of birds and insects that come out to play now and again. Many of the animals come our way via Palo Verde H.S. For some reason, the teachers and students there are under the impression that we have an animal sanctuary in our yard-which apparently we do. They bring their animals to Andy and he brings them home :) I don't mind (anymore-haha) though. It has been great for the kids and it is teaching them a lot of responsibility as well.
The newest members of to join our group include the lizard family. Andy was outside cleaning the pool when he rescued this little guy. We don't know if he was looking for water, but he somehow ended up in the pool and was frantically trying to escape. Luckily Andy saw him, rescued and released him back to his family-but not before I got a few pictures first. The girls named him Laba (lava) Lizard.
